Noordhoek becomes part of Royal A-ware

  • 01 June 2022

Family companies Royal A-ware and Noordhoek recently signed an agreement whereby Noordhoek will be taken over by Royal A-ware. On Monday 30 May 2022, Noordhoek's employees were informed about the proposed takeover. After approval from the Authority Consumer & Market (ACM), Noordhoek as a company will become part of Royal A-ware. The 58 employees of Noordhoek will join Royal A-ware.

Both family businesses have a long tradition in cheese. The acquisition is a strategic choice for both organisations. Jonathan Koelewijn, Managing Director of Noordhoek: 'We are not strangers to each other. There has been a pleasant working relationship for years. Thanks to this acquisition, Noordhoek will become part of a larger organisation. That offers opportunities in other markets and, for example, better access to cheese and cheese products. With the strength of Royal A-ware, we secure the position of our customers in the market and we create a stable, safe haven for our family business'.

Noordhoek's product range is complementary to that of Royal A-ware. Noordhoek is a specialist in grated cheese and offers this in different forms than Royal A-ware currently does. In addition, both organisations are active in other markets. With the expertise and experience of Noordhoek's employees, we will be able to add products to our product range, which will enable us to meet our customers' needs even better', says Jan Anker (CEO Royal A-ware).
