DKB moves to the third generation

  • 09 March 2026

As of January 1, 2026, Bjorn Dokter has been appointed General Director (CEO) at DKB Partner in Foodsolutions (Family Dokter Company).

With this step, Bjorn officially takes over the reins from his father, John Dokter. Over the past years, John has been responsible for the growth of the family business, which has been active for more than 70 years.

The story of DKB Partners in Foodsolutions began with Jan van Veen, the founder and John’s father-in-law, who started by grinding returned bread into breadcrumbs. Today, the company supplies a broad range of breadcrumb (mixes), coating solutions, spice blends, rubs, cooking sauces, and functional blends to customers in more than 30 countries. Bjorn is officially the third generation within the company and now leads it together with partner Erik van den Brink. Erik joined in the summer of 2022 as a shareholder in the role of CCO/CFO.

Moving forward together

According to the new generation, the family business is far from reaching its full potential. Their ambitions are clear, but when it comes to operations, nothing will change, Bjorn assures: “DKB will remain your trusted Partner in Foodsolutions. At the same time, we are making significant investments in a new machinery park to meet the growing demand and the high quality standards of our products. And where we used to innovate mainly in response to customer demand, we are now taking a more proactive approach to the market. To support this, we recently expanded our R&D department.” In this way, DKB is responding to trends such as Korean flavors and new applications. “Always focused on taste, convenience, and greater variety,” Bjorn says with pride.

Trusted Partner in Foodsolutions

One thing is clear: together, Bjorn and Erik are building a bright future for the company. And John? He already knows how he will spend the time that becomes available. Together with his wife Arna, he will collect donations both through DKB and privately to support charitable causes.
