It's been two months already since the start of the lockdown. Two months in which personal contact is minimal. If you read my columns regularly, you know that personal contact is my number one priority. I am always looking forward to the meetings of the OSV. Just catching up, greeting everyone with a handshake and/or three kisses. That won't be there for a while...
But I also miss the contact moments at trade fairs very much. Every ten meters I would come across someone who wanted to have a chat. People you see regularly, but also people you had lost sight of. So valuable. For me, every trade fair is one big network meeting.
Fortunately, I can still keep in touch via my trade magazines, print, newsletters and online. Last month we called on all our business contacts: send us the news you wanted to share at trade fairs and the products you wanted to launch so we could create a virtual trade fair. Also this edition we have 8 pages with exhibitors at our virtual fair 'messages in times of corona' That way we also contribute to the survival of the crisis. After all, you have to let it be known right now that you are still there for your customers. Business as usual, but at an appropriate distance.
Whether we will be going out in large numbers again this autumn? To meetings and trade fairs? Time will tell. It also has consequences for the network meetings. But we are going to find a solution, because we can't go on for months without you!
