Empack 2024 in Gorinchem once again marked a highlight in the packaging industry. From April 9 to 11, the Evenementenhal Gorinchem was the venue for a major packaging event, organized by Easyfairs. According to the organizers, this edition was another success, partly due to innovative initiatives such as the Showroom and the Consumer Packaging Street.
On the trade fair, Empack introduced several notable new areas. The Showroom, the Co-Packers Pavilion, and the Consumer Packaging Street were enthusiastically received. Visitors and exhibitors were inspired by themes such as future packaging methods, the use of bioplastics, and the latest developments in food safety. These topics were extensively covered in the knowledge theater and at the Pitch-Pack Square.
The Pitch-Pack Square provided a stage for innovative pitches, with circular products taking center stage. During the Pitch Your Product session on April 10, circularity and sustainability were highlighted. Thijs Wester from PAKT B.V. clinched the ‘Circular Product Award’ with his pitch on reusable glass packaging.
The Empack fair also proved to be a prime opportunity for professionals to network and discuss the latest trends and technologies. Not only were the newest machine constructions showcased, but visitors also got acquainted with refurbished machines, emphasizing the increasingly important role of circularity in the industry.
Empack 2024 presented itself as a dynamic platform where the future of packaging was both visible and open for discussion. With a forward-looking approach, the upcoming convergence of Empack and Packaging Innovations in 2025 promises significant innovation. The packaging industry continues to evolve, with sustainability and innovation as the driving forces behind this development.
