Sonac Functional Products is proud to announce the opening of its state-of-the-art facility SPARC* to help customers develop innovative new meat and savoury products.
At the new Sonac Product and Application Research Centre (SPARC*), product specialists and customers will have the opportunity to try out different recipes and application possibilities with Sonac's QRange animal proteins. Sonac is part of Darling Ingredients.
SPARC* is designed to try out different options and conduct large-scale tests with industrial processes and machines. The aim is to help customers discover the best solutions to everyday 'meat puzzles', such as water retention, salt reduction, meat colouring, soy substitution, fat absorption or texture improvement. "With the help of our specialists and our extensive range - 100% natural - of meat proteins, SPARC* can help companies develop sustainable, commercially viable new products," says Arjan van Waes, director Sonac Functional Products.
SPARC* is located next to Sonac's food-grade production facility in Vuren (NL), where sustainable food ingredients are manufactured. Here, the sales support and R&D teams are also present to add expertise. The facility has professional machines; just a size smaller than those used in the food industry. "Within a realistic, practical setting, multiple meat products and different batches can therefore be made," explains Arjan. "With tests and trials it is easy to see how our functional QRange proteins can improve different recipes. And how to use them optimally. Thanks to SPARC* we can support and educate customers from all over the world better than ever."
He is looking forward to working together on the opportunities QRange proteins offer to create innovative meat and savoury products, and is happy to share his thoughts on how to contribute to a sustainable, circular society. "We hope that the spark will be ignited during your visit to SPARC*, so that you - together with our specialists - develop your recipes into products that consumers will love."
