The Nocotech disinfection system is successful worldwide. In dental practices, hospitals and even cinemas. And of course in the food industry; in the Netherlands it is mainly used in the fish and meat sector, but increasingly also by manufacturers of meat substitutes and vegetable products.
In order to grow, micro-organisms need a nutrient medium: proteins and moisture. Ingredients that are plentiful in the food production chain, including that for vegetable products. Together with the right pH and temperature, this creates an ideal environment for the microbiological growth of undesirable micro-organisms. "In order to guarantee food safety, food companies will have to limit and inhibit this growth as much as possible, and keep it below a certain level. A continuous challenge," says Hugo ter Hoeve of Simpel Desinfecteren.
Nocotech is effective against all micro-organisms, from fungi to viruses, from bacteria to spore-formers. It even breaks down biofilm. "How it works? "Very briefly: the Nocotech system fills the room in which the device is placed with a dry vapour full of OH ions. These ions have a strong disinfecting effect," Hugo explains. "The vapour fills the entire room and the ions can also reach the hard-to-clean areas, such as in and under machines. An additional advantage of the dry vapour is that everything in the production area remains dry, and there is no need to rinse afterwards."
A manufacturer of vegetable meat substitutes had his products returned because of white spots. A fungus. Hugo advised him to treat the production area and packaging department with the Nocospray method. "First of all, the preconditions have to be right, of course. The most important is: cleaning properly, but that applies to every disinfection method. After a daily treatment regime with Nocotech, the fungus at this company was below the desired level within one week. They continue to use our method to eradicate the mould as a whole, but also because other micro-organisms also showed a clear reduction. And that, in turn, reduces research costs.
Sounds like a miracle cure. But is it?
No," Hugo explains simply. "It just works."
