New Oerlemans Plastics building festively opened

On Friday 4 November 2022, Mayor Egbert Lichtenberg of the municipality of Altena opened the new building at Oerlemans Plastics. The production and construction team involved in the major project at De Rietdijk industrial estate was eyewitness to this beautiful milestone. More than 8,800 square metres of additional production and office facilities have been built next to the packaging manufacturer's current plant on Industrieweg in Giessen.

The new building makes it possible to continue to meet the expected growth and sustainability in the market for high-quality flexible plastic films and packaging. Oerlemans Plastics has been active in this market since 1972 and will further expand its capacity as a producer and knowledge partner. The opening moment is also the kick-off of the jubilee year, in which the 50th anniversary will be celebrated.

With this expansion, the company is making great strides on the basis of extrusion capabilities (manufacturing plastic film and packaging), offering new opportunities in the national and international market. The focus is on making barrier packaging, which is recyclable and offers a more sustainable alternative in terms of packaging for many products from the food world.
