How much money can you save with a proper oil analysis?

  • 20 October 2025

An annual oil analysis is a small investment that delivers significant savings. By regularly testing the oil in your machine, you gain insight into both the quality of the lubricant and the technical condition of your equipment. This allows you to determine exactly when the oil truly needs replacing—preventing you from doing it either too early or too late. Both scenarios can lead to unnecessary costs.

At FenS, we support you with an independent oil analysis that goes beyond examining the oil itself. Our reports identify early signs of wear, contamination, or moisture in the oil, helping you prevent issues before they cause damage. As a result, our customers save substantially each year on maintenance and repair costs while extending the lifespan of their machines.

A reliable analysis starts with a proper oil sample. The way you take that sample determines the quality of the results. Follow these four steps for a representative sample:

  • Choose the right moment. Take the sample while the machine is running, or immediately after if that’s not possible.
  • Select the correct location. Take the sample before the pressure and return filter—ideally from the middle of the oil reservoir. Ensure the area is clean and free from dust or leaks.
  • Follow the correct procedure. Always use a new, clean sample bottle supplied by FenS, and draw the oil via a drain point or pipe—without rinsing with water or degreaser. Fill the bottle to about 75%.
  • Ship with care. Complete the data form in full, label the sample with the barcode, and send it the same day in the leak-proof packaging provided.

After analysis, you’ll receive a clear report with measured results and practical advice. Together with FenS, you can review the findings and make informed maintenance decisions right away.

In short: a proper oil analysis saves costs, prevents downtime, and helps you get the most out of your machines.
