The top sectors Agri & Food, Horticulture & Raw Materials and High Tech Systems & Materials together account for more than half of Dutch exports. At the cutting edge of these sectors lie challenging innovation opportunities that offer the Netherlands insight into new export chains and the economy on the one hand and into the next steps in the production of sustainable, safe, transparent and tasty food on the other. The Netherlands is a pioneer in the field of high-tech. Our country also has a global reputation in the field of Agri & Food and Horticulture. With crossovers between high-tech industry and agriculture and horticulture, the Netherlands can remain a leader.
The event brings technological innovation, expertise development and cooperation to life. There will be various knowledge sessions, theme squares and live demos and an exhibition with an expected 100 specialist companies and knowledge institutions. The exhibitor profile is very broad, including robotics, sensor technology, photonics, vision and information technology, machine and equipment construction, IOT, software, big data, precision agriculture, food innovation and packaging technology.
The food processing industry also has to work with new technologies. Process and quality improvement are of the utmost importance. On the exhibition floor and in special reading rooms, visitors from the food industry receive new insights and practical help from colleagues.
As an independent knowledge and network centre for industry, Mikrocentrum provides a platform for (high-tech) solutions for quality and process optimisation across the entire width of the AgriFood sector. For the congress, on Wednesday 11 December, they're working with the AgriFoodTech Platform. Implementing organisations are FME, LTO Nederland and 4TU with the support of LNV.
