Food Tech Event on May 14 and 15, 2025

On May 14 and 15, the Brabanthallen in ’s Hertogenbosch will host the Food Tech Event, the one-stop trade fair for food production and processing. Visitors will find everything related to their processing and production needs in the food and beverage sector, all conveniently under one roof.

Sure, you could spend your time driving around to meet everyone personally, whether you know them or not. Or you could sit behind your computer and browse websites for information. But there’s a moment in May when everything and everyone converges at a single physical location. Maybe “shopping” isn’t the right word, but the feeling is similar: on this exhibition floor, you’ll “surf” live through a broad range of companies, organizations, and educational and knowledge institutions offering solutions for the food and beverage sector. From food safety and hygiene solutions to packaging machines and materials, and from flooring and walls to conveyor belts and vision technology—everything is here. You’ll find answers on how to optimize, set up, and execute your complete production environment and processing chain. It’s also a prime opportunity to strengthen existing relationships and forge new ones. Don’t be surprised if you leave with unexpected encounters and fresh insights.

Plenty of questions and challenges

Gaining and updating relevant knowledge is crucial in these turbulent times. The industry faces plenty of challenges. Geopolitical unrest and wars make long-term planning difficult, while the need for a more sustainable food system driven by climate change, the energy transition, and the protein transition demands exactly that: long-term vision. On top of that, labor shortages continue to rise. Meanwhile, food producers and processors in the Netherlands are working tirelessly to improve our food. But today’s consumer is critical, and government regulations are strict. Food must not only taste better but also be healthier and fresher—while preferably having a longer shelf life. And, of course, it must be food safe, with as little packaging as possible. Go figure.

Solutions!

Technology and innovation play a critical role in addressing these challenges. The exhibition floor is where food producers will find the answers. Get insights into key trends and developments and identify where your opportunities lie. Learn which innovations in digitalization, automation, and robotics can elevate your processes by making them more efficient and sustainable. Figure out when and where you, as a food producer, should invest. You’re certainly not the only one with questions—talk about it! The exhibition floor is the perfect place to exchange experiences and gather knowledge with like-minded professionals.

“This trade fair is important to us because it brings together people who share the same mindset,” explains Hoppenbrouwers Techniek B.V. “They speak our language, and we speak theirs, which helps us connect faster.”

“At the fair, you meet many different people in a single day. Customers from various sectors, as well as fellow exhibitors, who you can learn from—even about possible collaborations. That’s how we combine all the information into the right solution,” says Marc Fortuin, Managing Director at Handtmann B.V. Laughing, he concludes, “I’m just happy there’s finally an initiative where we can showcase our innovations and machines to our customers again.”

Knowledge program

In addition to visiting exhibitors, there’s plenty more to see and do during the two-day event. The program features an extensive and engaging conference agenda with around 40 speakers. Highlights include keynotes by Marianne van Keep, Director of Sustainability and Procurement at Verstegen Spices & Sauces, and Tijs Roeland, Technical and Project Manager at CONO Kaasmakers. There will be in-depth panel discussions featuring industry experts. One of these, organized by Vakblad Voedingsindustrie and Next Tech Food Factories, focuses on energy savings and the opportunities of technological innovation in the food processing sector. Various live demos will be presented, and of course, there will be a lively networking reception, courtesy of the OSV Network.
