The rates of the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA), which are charged to companies for inspections, re-inspections, system supervision, certification, sampling and analysis, will change as of 1 January 2020. The rates will be adjusted in line with rising wages and prices. The indexation this year is 2.5%. The quarter-hourly and starting rates for Quality Assessments in the Animal Sector (KDS) increase by 3.9% and 5.3% respectively. This is related to the expected increase in CLA wages.
A new European Control Regulation will enter into force on 14 December 2019. This regulation states that initial training costs of veterinary assistants for imports may no longer be charged on. This will lead to an adjustment of some NVWA tariffs, for example a reduction of 0.6% in the kilogrammes of veterinary import tariffs.
The tariffs of the NVWA are set by the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality (LNV) and the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport (VWS). The new rates can be found on the website of the NVWA (Dutch only).
