During the Week of the Food Bank, Bonduelle Nederland is taking action to address food insecurity. The company is donating thousands of cans of edamame beans to food banks across the country, providing vulnerable households with nutritious meals. This initiative aligns with Bonduelle's mission to make healthy food accessible to everyone.
Recently, Bonduelle Nederland achieved its B Corp certification, recognizing the company for its commitment to social and sustainable responsibility. To celebrate, Bonduelle decided to donate to food banks. "We want to mark this special occasion by giving back to the community in line with our mission," says Ilonka Audenaerde, General Manager of Bonduelle Northern Europe. The donation of bean cans was symbolically presented in the form of a cake, adding a festive touch to the event.
The donation comes at a crucial moment, as more and more households are becoming dependent on food banks due to the current economic situation. The cans of beans will be distributed to food banks across the country in the coming weeks. Bonduelle stresses the importance of vegetables and legumes as part of a healthy diet and is committed to making these products accessible to even the most vulnerable.
