January, February, Quarantine, December; We laugh about it, but that's the way it is. From March onwards, many fell into a black hole and the rest of the year went by in a haze. With ups and downs, heavy declines in turnover or ridiculously busy times because products are impossible to obtain... a crazy world. It simply happens to you, through no fault of your own, watching your entire business go under. Fortunately, I can't imagine it, but I can see a lot of companies falling around me. And just when you're back on your feet, you get hit by the second wave.
We wanted to reduce traffic jams, relieve public transport, work from home more often, get rid of the hustle and bustle at the airports...
Be careful what you wish for.
Because we also want to keep our job, do good business and grow, stay healthy, enjoy our freedom and travel far.
And what 2021 will look like remains a mistery...
The Interpack and the FruitLogistica are planned in February, the Anuga in March, I have yet to see if those fairs will continue. With all those international flights, I simply can' t really see it.
In 2020, we also have a number of trade fair organisations that are stubbornly persevering. Good luck. But what do you put your faithful exhibitors through? Compulsorily take part in an exhibition with a handful of visitors or cancel your booth and lose the money?
I also want to organise large network meetings again, but not right now.
One thing is certain: on the other side of the black hole another world awaits.
