Uitgekookt expands with acquisition of Étumé

  • 27 January 2025

Uitgekookt has completed the acquisition of Étumé, a move that aligns with the company’s growth strategy. With this acquisition, Uitgekookt is expanding its operations in the Nijmegen region and taking an important step toward national scaling.

Growth strategy and capacity utilization

The acquisition of Étumé marks the beginning of a buy-and-build strategy aimed at further strengthening Uitgekookt’s market position. Last year, the company doubled its production capacity and aims to fully utilize it by 2025. By integrating new businesses, such as Étumé, Uitgekookt expects to increase production to 750,000 meals per week and achieve a revenue growth of approximately 85 million euros.

Expanded offering and sustainability

With the acquisition, Étumé customers will gain access to a wider range of fresh, healthy meals. Uitgekookt’s nutrition experts and chefs continuously work on optimizing taste and composition, with a strong focus on health and convenience. In addition, Uitgekookt is investing in sustainable solutions, including packaging innovations and the use of locally sourced ingredients to reduce its environmental footprint.

Johan van Marle, owner of Uitgekookt, sees the acquisition as a logical step: “The acquisition of Étumé strengthens our presence in the Nijmegen region, further reinforcing our nationwide position. This acquisition marks the start of an active buy-and-build strategy aimed at strengthening and expanding our market position in the Netherlands.”

According to Simon Hevink of Marktlink, which is supporting Uitgekookt throughout the acquisition process, market consolidation continues to increase. Smaller players are increasingly joining larger companies to benefit from economies of scale and improve operational efficiency.
