Société Parisienne pour l’Industrie Electrique – better known as SPIE. While our origins lie in electrical engineering, today SPIE is the European market leader in multi-technical services.

We design, install, maintain and manage energy-efficient and sustainable installations and systems. In the Netherlands, we operate from 26 locations with around 7,500 colleagues, actively contributing to the challenges of the energy transition and digital transformation.

Our market approach is structured around four complementary segments, allowing us to stay close to our clients and understand their needs.

SPIE has traditionally been focused on the industrial sector in all its forms. We know the industry is constantly evolving, and the food industry in particular is driven by innovation—especially in response to consumer behaviour. Consumers are increasingly conscious of food and health. Producers are adapting accordingly, while sustainable and efficient production is quickly becoming the norm. Data-driven production and maintenance are essential to meeting these expectations.

SPIE supports the entire scope of industrial operations, from inbound logistics to finished product output. We do this through a number of specialised Business Units (BUs).

Engineering

Our engineering unit includes all the technical disciplines needed to carry out virtually any partial or full industrial project. We provide FEED, basic and detailed engineering—also in combination with construction projects (EPC(m)). This unit includes approximately 300 FTEs, covering Process, Piping & Mechanical (P&M), Machine Construction, Civil & Structural (C&S), and Electrical, Instrumentation and Automation (EIA).

Installation and maintenance

We also operate business units for installation and maintenance in the fields of P&M and EIA. These teams work from our own workshops as well as directly on site at our clients’ facilities.

Maintenance Solutions

Our extensive Maintenance Solutions BU helps improve operational performance by increasing availability, reliability, production speed, and product quality. Under the “Maintain 2 Improve” approach, we offer a comprehensive asset management programme.

Machine Construction

Finally, our Machine Construction BU brings specific knowledge and experience in specialised machinery for the food industry. We assemble and build subassemblies, complete systems and prototypes for machines and production lines. We also handle the control systems. Our in-house panel builders develop the automation solutions needed for maximum productivity—today and in the future.
