The government has no concrete plans yet to influence the price difference between conventional and organic. The Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality announced this at the Biobeurs. A VAT reduction on organic products does not seem to be on the cards for the time being. However, the ministry is looking into the possibilities of true pricing, a pricing method that not only looks at production costs, but also at social costs, such as the effects on nature and the environment. The criticism is that these social costs are not included in the prices of regular products.
