When you are confronted with misery (from someone else) you resolve to live in the NOW. Do you recognize that? It usually only lasts for a short while and then you fall back into the routine.
Not for me. Not anymore. In recent years, many people around me have fallen away. A number of them far too young. Young people with dreams and plans for the future. Plans that were always postponed: first you have to do this and then you have to do that, I have plenty of time, we can do that later. NOT.
I have always said that I wanted to go hiking one day with a tent on my back, instead of a luxury holiday home, always in France. As you might have read in my previous column, I finally managed to do that this year. And that sailing holiday in Croatia that had been on my list for so long, that too. Next year, a snow trip in Sweden. Wonderful, why wait another year when you can do it NOW!
Our company trip that we kept postponing because of all sorts of limitations and excuses, is also planned NOW. We are all going up in the air! A balloon flight above Arnhem. All directions are fine, in every direction we will fly above one of our houses. I cannot wait.
There is still so much on my list. And I want to tick it off NOW, so that there is space for new challenges. Not only in my private life, but also for the network. How about rioting at the training of the Mobile Unit? Just because you can!
I am done with always postponing! How about you?
