Nature’s Pride and Berries Pride, together with their growers ACP from Peru and ZZ2 from South Africa, have launched an ambitious project to reduce CO2 emissions and improve access to water and hygiene (WASH). This collaboration with the Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland (RvO) highlights Nature’s Pride’s commitment to sustainable farming in the production of avocados and blueberries.
As part of this multi-year project, measures are being implemented to limit environmental impact. Growers are adopting the use of natural compost and energy-efficient transport. In addition, there are plans to install drinking points and improve sanitary facilities on the growers’ premises. These initiatives not only contribute to better working conditions but also support a more sustainable production process.
The results of this project will benefit not only the participating companies but also be shared with other growers. This will enable the successful initiatives to be expanded to other regions and products. The ultimate goal is to work together with the entire sector towards a sustainable future, with a focus on both people and nature.
