Hessing has acquired a 50% strategic stake in Heeren Groenten & Fruit, a specialist in fresh vegetable processing and sous-vide preparations for the foodservice sector. This acquisition marks a new phase in the companies' collaboration, which has been ongoing for some time. Both parties aim to further strengthen and expand their market position through this partnership.
Over the past year, Hessing and Heeren have worked closely together to supply fresh vegetables to foodservice clients. This collaboration has laid the groundwork for a future-oriented partnership. The shared goal is to further integrate and streamline operations. As of January 2025, Heeren Groenten & Fruit will operate under the name Hessing Foodservice B.V., reflecting their shared identity and objectives.
With this step, Hessing and Heeren aim to expand their client portfolio and offer an even wider range of fresh products. Mark Heeren will continue to oversee production, while both companies focus on optimising their services. Frank Hessing, CEO of Hessing, describes this as a key milestone: “This partnership represents a new chapter that we are proud to embark on.”
