Money for research and development of circular innovations

  • 16 June 2021

Research and development of innovations for the circular economy will get a boost with the new TSE Industry: Circular Economy grant. The scheme focuses on new products, services and processes. The innovations must lead to the first market application in the Netherlands by 2030.

The TSE Industry: Circular Economy stems from the Knowledge and Innovation Agenda Circular Economy (KIA CE). A total of € 2.5 million in subsidy is available. The scheme opens on 6 July 2021 and closes on 14 September 2021.

Industrial research and experimental development

This concerns the development of new technology. The scheme supports industrial research and experimental development for new or cheaper circular products, processes and services. Furthermore, the technological solutions contribute to more trust, acceptance and circular behaviour among producers and consumers. The innovations must be on the market in the Netherlands by 2030 at the latest.

Subsidy up to € 500,000

Only a partnership can apply for a subsidy. The partnership includes at least one company. Preferably a research organisation will also participate. The duration of the projects submitted is maximum 2 years. The maximum grant for each project is € 500,000. Complete project proposals will be ranked after the closing of the application period. The highest scoring projects will be awarded a grant.
