Meatable expands internationally with TruMeat

  • 01 May 2025

Leiden-based Meatable is joining forces with TruMeat to produce cultivated meat faster, at lower cost, and on a larger scale. The collaboration focuses on process optimisation and the construction of a new production facility in Singapore, fully powered by Meatable’s technology.

The new plant will be operated by TruMeat, a company specialised in large-scale contract manufacturing of cultivated meat. The goal is clear: to produce meat at volumes and costs that match the needs of commercial partners. “This is the next step in our journey to make cultivated meat accessible and affordable,” said Jeff Tripician, CEO of Meatable. “We have full trust in TruMeat’s expertise.”

A joint effort to reach the market

TruMeat brings valuable experience in media development and process optimisation. By combining their strengths, the two companies aim to significantly reduce production costs. “We are very confident that by combining our strengths, we can achieve the necessary cost reductions and the commercial scale to make cultivated meat a viable option for global markets,” said James Chui, Chairman of TruMeat.

Towards commercial application

With this partnership, Meatable and TruMeat are taking a step towards more efficient and sustainable meat production. They aim to respond to the growing demand for alternative proteins—both within and beyond the traditional meat industry.
