Major alliance for melted cheese: St. Paul, ERU and Kasi Food

  • 07 June 2023

St Paul and Royal ERU have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at acquiring and integrating the processed cheese production of Kasi Food, currently part of Lekkerkerker Food.

The Dutch and Belgian processed cheese companies are joining forces to increase their joint core business and market share, as well as achieve efficiencies in production processes. This creates the largest alliance in the field of (processed) cheese production in the Benelux.

The cooperation between St Paul, Royal ERU and Kasi Food results in one party with a wide range of high-quality (melting) cheese preparations for the consumer market, the out-of-home market and the food industry. Both companies aim to jointly realise growth, improve the quality and efficiency of their production processes and benefit from each other's expertise and experience.

The integration of Kasi Food within the partnership offers significant synergy and economies of scale. This allows Kasi Food to further professionalise and respond faster to market opportunities, while Lekkerkerker Food can focus on growth and transition to sustainability for its cream cheese and vegan operations. The transaction to acquire Kasi Food is currently being discussed with Lekkerkerker Group's Works Council.
