The Interreg program KPF FoodPlus gives Dutch entrepreneurs a helping hand. Companies from the Netherlands and Germany collaborate to bring sustainable innovations to market faster. Oost NL coordinates this in Gelderland, Overijssel, and Flevoland. They support entrepreneurs at every stage of a project, from concept to submission.
KPF FoodPlus focuses on projects that make a real impact on emissions and food waste. Circularity and energy efficiency are also important. Entrepreneurs can submit both feasibility studies and innovation projects. A portion of the costs is reimbursed. Collaboration with a German partner is required, but help finding the right match is also available. Note: the first deadline for project ideas is February 1, 2026.
Oost NL helps identify opportunities, prepare strong proposals, and establish international collaborations. “With KPF FoodPlus, entrepreneurs get a unique chance to accelerate their sustainable innovations,” says Annemarie van Vilsteren, Food Project Manager at Oost NL. “The strength of this program lies in accessible funding, cross-border collaboration, and a clear focus on impact.”
The program is carried out by a consortium of German and Dutch development organizations. Funding comes from Interreg VI A Deutschland-Nederland, with additional co-financing from EFRO, the Ministry of Economic Affairs, several federal states, and provinces. This makes it easier for entrepreneurs, knowledge institutions, and industry organizations to work together toward a more sustainable agrifood sector.
