Compass Group acquires Vermaat Group

Compass Group has acquired Vermaat Group. This strengthens the international foodservice provider’s position in the Netherlands and further expands its European footprint.

Vermaat Group will continue to operate as an independent organization within Compass Group Europe. Day-to-day leadership remains in the hands of CEO Rick Zeelen. Vermaat brings strong brands, forward-looking foodservice concepts, and an entrepreneurial mindset. The group’s activities are diverse and span the Netherlands, Belgium, France, and Germany.

According to Kathinka Friis-Møller, CEO of Compass Group Europe, Vermaat is a strong fit for the organization: “I am very proud that Vermaat Group is now part of Compass Group Europe. Compass Nederland becomes part of Vermaat Group

With this transaction, Compass Nederland has become part of Vermaat Group. Compass Nederland and Vermaat Nederland will work closely together from their existing service offices. Both organizations share a focus on food, hospitality, and a people-centered, entrepreneurial culture. The aim is to strengthen one another and achieve shared success.

Nothing will change for Vermaat’s organizations in Belgium, France, and Germany. All brands and labels operating there under Vermaat Group will remain separate from the Compass organizations in those countries.

Focus on talent and technology

Compass Group is strengthening Vermaat Group across the board. This enables Vermaat to better respond to the needs of clients, guests, and employees. Within the collaboration, the emphasis is on talent development, technology, and innovation.
