Inex to acquire Veco Zuivel from Farmel

  • 30 September 2024

Belgian dairy producer Inex has announced its intention to acquire Veco Zuivel from the Dutch dairy company Farmel. With this strategic acquisition, both companies aim to strengthen their partnership and add value to the Dutch dairy market. The acquisition is pending approval from the Dutch Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM), but expectations are positive.

Farmel shifts focus to core activities

For Farmel, the sale of Veco Zuivel provides an opportunity to concentrate more on its core activities, including milk processing and supporting the nearly 300 dairy farmers affiliated with the company. By divesting Veco Zuivel, Farmel can better achieve its business goals. "We aim to sharpen our focus, and the sale of Veco Zuivel allows us to pursue these ambitions," said the dairy company from Emmeloord.

Future for Veco Zuivel and Inex

Veco Zuivel is optimistic about the acquisition by Inex. The company views the collaboration as a way to promote further growth and professionalisation. The combination of Veco’s sustainable milk streams and Inex’s expertise in long-life dairy products presents strong potential for both parties. For Inex, expanding into fresh dairy products is a logical step. With Greek yoghurt, skyr, and a broad organic range, Inex expects to strengthen its position in the Dutch market.

The collaboration between Farmel, Inex, and Veco Zuivel marks a promising step towards a stronger future in the Dutch dairy industry.
