AgriFoodTech, a platform for technological innovations that will shape the future of agrifood, is being held in the Netherlands from 13-14 December 2017. The event is aimed at fostering innovation, the development of expertise and (new) collaborative partnerships.
Manufacturers, suppliers, developers, designers and end users from the entire food chain will be presenting their very latest innovations at AgriFoodTech at the Brabanthallen venue in the Dutch city of ’s-Hertogenbosch (Den Bosch). Visitors can gain insights and learn about solutions during knowledge sessions based around topical themes such as Machine Building & Automation, Big Data & ICT, Smart & Vertical Farming, and Testing, Measuring & Quality. There will also be various themed information areas, live demos and a trade fair featuring around 110 specialised companies and educational institutions. The exhibitor profile is extremely broad, ranging from automation, robotics and sensor technology to machine & equipment building, and from vision technology, software, big data and IT to precision agriculture and packaging technology. On both days, over 40 exhibitors will be holding separate presentations in various rooms. The Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) is organising an (international) Meet & Match so that visitors can arrange to meet up with one another. Various industry associations are also holding their member meetings to tie in with the event.
Between them, the ‘top sectors’ of Agri & Food, Horticulture & Starting Materials, and High-tech Systems & Materials account for over half of the Netherlands’ export activities. There are exciting innovation opportunities at the interface between these two sectors which can open up new possibilities for the Netherlands, in terms of both new export chains and the economy on the one hand, and the next steps towards the sustainable, safe and transparent production of great-tasting food on the other. The Netherlands is a pioneer in the high-tech domain, and also has a strong international reputation for agrifood and horticulture. Thanks to this crossover, our country remains at the forefront of high-tech food production.
