In a recent development, Fuite, the livestock feed company based in Genemuiden, has successfully concluded the acquisition of the Gosschalk slaughterhouse in Epe. After some delays caused by complications surrounding the bankruptcy of the Danish client Skare Meat Packers, the court has granted approval for the agreement between Gosschalk and its creditors.
Fuite initially reached an agreement for the acquisition of Gosschalk in March of this year. However, the finalization was hindered by financial obstacles arising from the bankruptcy of Skare Meat Packers, compelling Gosschalk to reach an agreement with its creditors. The legal approval for this was obtained through the Act on Confirmation of Extrajudicial Restructuring Plans, which came into effect in 2022.
With the acquisition, Gosschalk will now operate under the name FamilyBeef, exclusively focusing on the slaughtering of cattle. This strategic decision allows Fuite to make a significant impact on the meat processing industry with a market share of approximately 27%. FamilyBeef will specialize in deboning carcasses and further processing of beef. Approximately 200 employees will be involved in the continuation of these activities.
