Twenty food entrepreneurs have started the Food Pioneers Program 2026. The kickoff took place at Energy Up in Zeewolde. This marks the start of a six-month trajectory focused on growth, knowledge, and networking. Participants are working toward a pitch event, where they will present their business to a jury and an audience from the food sector.
The participants represent a broad mix of founders and concepts. Different growth stages and business models come together within one program.
Among the participants are Bo&Co Drinks, Chocobytes, and Fungitown Mushrooms. Insectenhouderij Verkaik, Simple Protein, and Weeknight Hero are also part of the group. The list shows how varied the propositions within the food sector are.
According to the organization, the entrepreneurs share a clear ambition. They aim to accelerate the growth of their businesses and take new steps in the market.
The program combines workshops, coaching, and sparring sessions. Topics include product-market fit, finance, and free publicity. There are also in-depth sessions such as In the Mind of the Buyer. During the program, participants work on their strategy and positioning. They also build new connections within the program’s network.
The program concludes with a pitch event on October 8, 2026. Participants will present their business to a jury and an audience from the food sector.
New this year is the transition toward a full incubator. During the final, participants have a chance to secure part of €240,000 in growth capital. This amount will be distributed among three to five startups. The program therefore offers not only knowledge and network access, but also access to funding. Especially at a time when capital is difficult for many entrepreneurs to obtain.
