Biobeurs 2026 at Omnisport Apeldoorn attracted around 5,600 visitors. That figure is in line with expectations. The new location and adjusted timing in the year appear to have been well received. With 160 exhibitors from across the organic chain, the event had strong energy from the start.
The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security and Nature officially opened the event. He spoke positively about the sector. “There is a lot of positivity coming from the organic sector. That suits me well, that positivity is very contagious.” According to him, his personal involvement has grown since the birth of his child. He was clear about the future: “This is truly a future model.” At the same time, he pointed to the importance of a strong chain and clear agreements on market demand.
Jan Groen, chairman of Bionext, emphasized the cohesion within the sector. “Biobeurs shows how strong, resilient, and connected the organic sector is.”
The knowledge program included around 30 workshops over two days. Topics such as agroforestry, soil health, and biodiversity were covered. Market development and agricultural innovations also received attention. The sessions focused on practical applications, including short supply chains and organic sourcing.
During the event, the Bioregio Netwerk Nederland was also launched. This network brings together six Bioregions, thirteen municipalities, one aspiring region, and eight provinces.
The audience reflected a broad mix of chain partners. Farmers, processors, trade, and retail were all represented. As a result, the entire chain comes together on the exhibition floor.
According to Bionext, Conexpo, and Libéma, the choice of Omnisport worked out well. The venue contributes to the further development of Biobeurs as a meeting place.
