E-Piim, Royal A-ware and Interfood Group: First Cheddar produced in Estonia

  • 01 September 2023

The brand-new dairy factory in Estonia has produced its first Cheddar cheese after an extensive process of planning, design, and construction. This project is the outcome of a collaboration between E-Piim, Royal A-ware, and Interfood Group who decided to combine their expertise in 2021. While Royal A-ware handles the sale of cheese from the factory, Interfood Group oversees the distribution of whey powder and butter. With a total staff of about a hundred people, the factory plays a significant role in local employment.

Jaanus Murakas, the chairman of E-Piim, expressed his appreciation for the commitment of all involved and the predominantly smooth realization of the project. He emphasized the pivotal role of the partners, Royal A-ware and Interfood B.V., and the dedicated team of E-Piim for the success of this initiative.

The factory's director, Randel Veerits, highlighted the personnel side of the operation. He mentioned that although half of the required staff has already been recruited, the search for skilled workers continues. He also outlined the future plans for the factory, with a phased expansion of production capacity planned. The intention is to operate the facility 24 hours a day with four shifts by next year.
