Dutch Protein & Services (DP&S) is entering a new phase within the Driessen family. Through a transfer of shares, the company will be positioned as an independent entity within Verstegen Spice Group. This step reconnects the family businesses. Both organizations will continue to operate independently. The move lays the groundwork for the next phase of growth.
DP&S will be placed within Verstegen Spice Group, the family business of Michel Driessen, which also includes Verstegen Spices & Sauces. The transfer of shares from Chris Driessen to his brother Michel Driessen reconnects the family businesses. Both companies will retain their own identity, customers, and way of working, and will continue to operate fully independently.
The day-to-day management of Verstegen Spices & Sauces remains unchanged. The company will continue to operate under the leadership of CEO Mark Schraauwen as before. The collaboration focuses on combining strength and know-how, guided by a shared long-term vision. Michel Driessen comments: “I am proud that DP&S and Verstegen are moving closer together again, while both companies continue to operate independently.”
To further strengthen DP&S’s market position, Martijn Sonneveldt has been appointed CEO. Sonneveldt brings more than twenty years of experience in management and executive roles within the food industry. Chris Driessen will join the Advisory Board of DP&S, ensuring that his knowledge and involvement remain part of the organization.
Driessen describes the step as a logical next phase. “It is a great step that will stimulate further growth for the entire group. We both always look at least one generation ahead.”
The collaboration is built on continuity and stability, with attention to future generations and shared standards and values. DP&S will continue to operate according to principles that have defined both family businesses for decades, including quality, service, innovation, and long-term customer relationships.
