CONO Kaasmakers is taking a targeted step within the premium segment. The cooperative is acquiring Dutch butter company Van de Koe. With this move, CONO is responding to growing demand for high-quality dairy products. The acquisition strengthens its position in the premium butter segment. At the same time, the product portfolio is being expanded with a brand known for craftsmanship, quality, and origin.
According to CONO, Van de Koe fits seamlessly with its own way of working. Just like with cheese, the focus is on the product, its origin, and craftsmanship. Together with dairy farmers and partners, the cooperative aims to continue building strong brands, both in the Netherlands and internationally.
Managing director Jerry Griep calls the acquisition a logical step: “Van de Koe is a strong brand with a clear identity. It fits the way we work: with a strong focus on quality and craftsmanship.” He sees opportunities to further grow the brand while preserving its character.
Van de Koe’s commercial activities will be integrated into CONO itself. This creates room for the brand’s further development. Founder Roel Kramer will remain involved with CONO Kaasmakers.
Nothing will change for customers and suppliers in the short term. Existing agreements and deliveries will remain unchanged. CONO emphasizes the importance of continuity and carefully maintaining existing relationships.
