The busy schedule once again underlines just how active the OSV and Young Food Management (YFM) networks are.
This year, our plans include visits to Peutz’s new laboratory for fire safety in Mook, the La Trappe brewery in Berkel-Enschot, Nizo Food Research in Ede, Lunenburg Vlees in Oudewater, Simadan in Amsterdam and ROVC in Ede, plus there’s more on the agenda: how about the Summer Barbecue on 11 June and ‘Smaakstampei’ in early November, both at our regular haunt Buitenzorg in Ede?
Having only recently put the changeover to SEPA behind us, we now have to turn our attention to new-style labelling. Another major challenge. You might think that you have everything well prepared, but in practice all kinds of things always come to light that you discover you’ve overlooked. And before you know it, it’s 13 December: the date that Regulation (EU) No. 1169/2011 comes into effect. Therefore, the new labelling rules deserve our attention. We’re organising a seminar on ‘new-style labelling’ which covers the most important changes and consequences. We’ll combine the seminar with a tour of a company’s production facilities afterwards.
On a more relaxing note, we will of course be holding the OSV-YFM Golf Day again: on Friday 25 April we’re expecting at least 50 golf enthusiasts to join us at the Naarderbos golf club in Naarden. There’s something for everyone, including for less-experienced golfers or even complete novices. Why not take part in the clinic to learn the basics from a golf pro? Who knows, you might end up falling in love with the sport, just as I have. The winner of last year’s golf clinic, Roy Meenderink from ReflexSystems, has since obtained his golf licence just as he promised during the prize ceremony. This year he will make a fervent attempt to win the coveted trophy in the tournament. I wish him the very best of luck!
In other words, there are plenty of opportunities to leverage and expand your network. Consider inviting a special client to one of our events, whether the Golf Day, barbecue or a company visit. You’re more than welcome to attend!
