Agrifood initiative: 'learning to create value in food chains'

  • 19 December 2022

A number of large food companies are jointly launching a 'value creation in food chains' course. A widely supported initiative from within the chain with the aim of bringing all stakeholders in the chain closer together and further strengthening cooperation between farmers, processors, producers and supermarkets.

By working better together in food chains, promising chain collaborations can be recognised more quickly and the business and earnings model can be designed accordingly. Participants of the course come from various organisations throughout the chain. From retail, processors, producers, governments, interest groups and also farmers and growers themselves. During the programme, they gain theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of value creation in the food chain. Working together in a sustainable way and on a sustainable product, cost savings in the chain, a healthy earning capacity for all involved and affordability for all consumers in the Netherlands are central to this. Lessons are taught by leading scientists, market experts and top managers from the field.

The course on value creation in food chains is made possible by Albert Heijn, Royal Agrifirm Group, Royal A-ware, Plukon Food Group, Vion Food Group and agricultural organisations LTO and NAJK.
