Thursday 5 November 2020, the winners of the Amsterdam Food Pitch 2020 were announced. The finalist who received the title 'Lekkerste product 2020' (Tastiest product 2020) is the Vegetable Butter of Max&Bien. In addition to this overall prize, Knafeh Amsterdam was the crowd favourite and the sustainability prize was won by Leppa Limo.
Maxine and Jobien offer a product that is versatile, durable and very tasty. Who doesn't like butter? Smooth and salty, the ideal combination. Maxine and Jobien have long been looking for a vegetable version that is just as tasty as the animal version, but unfortunately without success. That is why they developed it themselves.
Leppo puts an apple on its head (turn it upside down). It is a soft drink made from applebones; the peels and bell-houses of apples that come directly from the farmer. All that is added is fresh ginger and lemon juice, so no extra sugars, crazy numbers or preservatives.
This handmade delicacy from the Middle East comes from Guy and lnbol. Knafeh is a crispy pie with a delicious aromatic and flowery syrup. Shredded filo dough as a base, marinated in butter, filled with mozzarella and even more filo dough!
