What's cooking? aims to acquire Sveltic in France

  • 09 January 2025

What's Cooking? has announced its intention to acquire 100% of the shares of Sveltic. Sveltic, part of the Mousquetaires group (which owns retail chains Intermarché and Netto), operates a production facility near Rennes, France. The company generates an annual turnover exceeding €50 million and maintains a normative EBITDA margin of approximately 10%. Sveltic’s product range includes frozen and chilled ready-to-eat meals, which aligns well with What's Cooking?’s existing strategy in the prepared meals segment.

The proposed acquisition is subject to customary conditions, including consultations with employee representatives and regulatory approval. Negotiations are currently being conducted exclusively with Agromousquetaires, a subsidiary of the Mousquetaires group. No definitive agreements have been made regarding the terms of the transaction at this stage.

Completion of the acquisition

The acquisition is expected to be finalized in the first half of 2025. Sveltic’s enterprise value is estimated at approximately €35 million. What's Cooking? will provide further updates as required by law.

Additionally, the group confirms that the divestment of its savory spreads business is progressing as planned. Further information will be shared upon completion of this process.
