Van Loon Group expands: Acquisition of Conveni Landgraaf

  • 24 January 2024

Van Loon Group has recently acquired the production and sales activities of fresh pasta sauces from Conveni Landgraaf. This strategic move aims to strengthen the convenience offering for customers in the retail and foodservice sector. The transaction, finalized last week, marks a significant expansion of Van Loon Group's product range.

The production of these fresh sauces will be integrated into the Maître facility in Oude-Tonge, a subsidiary of Van Loon Group, throughout the year. This strategic step is intended to create synergies and enhance operational efficiency.

Reinforcing Convenience Offer in Retail and Foodservice

CEO Robert van Ballegooijen emphasized the importance of this acquisition for Van Loon Group's clientele. Welcoming Conveni's fresh sauce division significantly broadens the existing range of fresh meals and soups. Van Ballegooijen stated, "These delicious refrigerated sauces complement our current offerings and strengthen our position in the retail and foodservice markets. We aim to transfer operations to Oude-Tonge later this year."

Van Loon Group entered the convenience market in 2021 with the successful addition of meal provider Bonfait to its portfolio. In 2023, the expertise of Maître, specializing in the production of refrigerated meals and soups, joined the group. The recent acquisition of Conveni Landgraaf further solidifies Van Loon Group's position as a leading player in the convenience food sector.
