Tooker: The right factory starts before design

  • 07 April 2026

What will your factory look like in five years’ time? And do you actually know what it looks like today? Many production companies are actively focused on the future. Growth, flexibility and efficiency are high on the agenda. Yet in practice, projects that start today do not always contribute optimally to those ambitions. This often begins at the very first step.

At an early stage, project leaders often involve a contractor or supplier directly in the process. This regularly leads to solutions that are strongly aligned with the capabilities of that specific party. As a result, the advice mainly reflects what is technically feasible or available, rather than what is best for the factory as a whole.

There is another important factor. Many decisions are based on assumptions about the existing situation, while reality often turns out to be different. Spaces are more limited than expected, installations are positioned differently, and constraints only become visible during execution. At that point, adjustments are often costly, time-consuming and complex.

The key question is therefore not only where you want to go, but also how well you understand where you stand today.

Tooker supports companies in approaching this differently. We believe that a successful project starts with insight. By first carefully mapping the existing factory and understanding how it actually operates, a solid foundation is created for better decision-making. Based on this insight, we take an integrated approach to process, capacity, layout, hygienic design and automation.

We do this independently of contractors and suppliers. This allows us to provide objective advice and work towards a solution that truly fits the client’s ambitions, available space and production reality.

In this way, we connect the factory of today with the factory of tomorrow. Not just with plans that look good on paper, but with projects that work in practice. With our background in process engineering, machine building and automation, we translate insight into concrete engineering and implementation. The result is fewer surprises during execution and a more predictable project outcome.
