Moolec Science SA, a scientific food ingredients company focused on animal protein production in plants, has achieved a remarkable breakthrough in its Meat Replacements Program. The new "Piggy Sooy" soybean platform produces significantly high amounts of pig protein.
The animal protein reaches an expression level of up to 26.6% of the total soluble protein in soybeans, four times higher than initially expected. This led to the filing of a new patent and the renaming of the platform to "Piggy Sooy."
Moolec's CEO, Gastón Paladini, emphasizes that Piggy Sooy is tangible evidence of Moolec's technology's ability to produce significant yields of meat proteins in plants. This positions the company as a pioneer in molecular agriculture for the food industry.
