The Automatica exhibition, held in Munich from June 27 to 30, 2023, showcased the solutions offered by automation and robotics for the changing work environments and society. The event experienced a successful comeback with 40,000 visitors from 88 countries and 650 exhibitors from 34 countries. The co-location of Automatica with LASER World of PHOTONICS and World of QUANTUM added significant value to the participants.

The Managing Directors of Messe München expressed their positive conclusion, emphasizing Automatica's innovative strength and the visionary solutions presented by participating companies to address challenges like the shortage of skilled workers. The cooperation with LASER World of PHOTONICS and World of QUANTUM also reinforced Munich's role as a leading technology hub.

Excellent to good

Exhibitors provided outstanding feedback, with 94 percent rating the trade fair as excellent to good. They appreciated the visitor quality and the increase in new customer acquisitions. Several exhibitors, such as VDMA Robotics + Automation, HAHN Automation, ZEISS Industrial Quality Solutions, and ABB Robotics, expressed their satisfaction with the event and highlighted the importance of Automatica as the world's leading exhibition for robotics and automation.

The exhibition attracted visitors from various countries, with Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Czech Republic, South Korea, China, Poland, Netherlands, Slovenia, and the USA among the top ten visitor countries. The visitors highly rated the trade fair, with 98 percent giving it an excellent to good rating. They praised the presence of market leaders and recognized Automatica's leading role. A majority of visitors expressed optimism about the future and expected the significance of Automatica to further increase.

Robotica and AI

The exhibition focused on key trends in the industry, highlighting the positive role of robots in addressing skill shortages and their potential for reducing CO2 emissions in production. Artificial Intelligence was another dominant topic, showcasing the rapid developments in this field and their impact on automation. The exhibition featured forums and special shows, such as the Service Robot City and Mobile Robots in Production showcases, which set new benchmarks in the supporting program.

The next Automatica will take place from June 24 to 27, 2025.
