The avocado is more popular than ever, but its cultivation is far from sustainable. Sabor Verde, an initiative by three Dutch entrepreneurs, aims to change that. As the first European brand, it offers avocados grown entirely with rainwater. A sustainable breakthrough, with taste as a top priority.
Sabor Verde’s avocados are grown in Michoacán, Mexico, where the climate provides an abundance of rainwater. Here, the fruits are cultivated in a natural environment alongside fruit trees and pine forests, without the need for irrigation. This approach enhances biodiversity and gives the avocados a unique flavor and texture. The brand also collaborates with the Water Footprint Network to further promote responsible water use.
Sabor Verde offers a wide range of ready-to-eat products, including guacamole, chunks, and crushed avocado. Thanks to High Pressure Processing, the taste and nutritional value are preserved without using preservatives. This not only reduces waste but also lowers the CO₂ footprint. Traditional avocados often partially end up in the bin due to brown spots or being unripe, but Sabor Verde consistently delivers perfectly ripe products.
