Ruys Groep has been a specialist in industrial flooring for the food industry for over 50 years. During the Food Tech Event, we will present our latest innovation: the BakeCrete bakery floor. This floor has been specifically developed to handle the extreme challenges of the bakery sector, such as high temperatures, heavy oven racks and intensive use.
Unlike traditional bakery floors, BakeCrete is not finished with broadcast sand to create anti-slip properties. Instead, we have developed a structured surface that does not feel abrasive. Thanks to its rounded profile, dirt does not adhere to sharp sand particles. This makes BakeCrete particularly suitable for dry cleaning in bakeries. You maintain the required grip in case of spilled flour or fats, while benefiting from improved cleanability, as the floor is much easier to clean than conventional anti-slip surfaces.
Thermal shock loads are common in bakeries. Hot oven racks and cleaning with boiling water can cause standard floors to crack or delaminate. BakeCrete is fully resistant to these conditions. The floor can withstand continuous loads up to 80°C and peak loads up to 120°C. Thanks to its high impact resistance (IR 4), it is also highly suitable for intensive traffic involving heavy equipment and oven racks.
In addition to these technical properties, BakeCrete is seamless and liquid-tight, preventing bacteria from finding a breeding ground. During renovations, every minute of downtime counts. BakeCrete can be walked on after just 16 hours and is fully mechanically loadable after 3 days. This allows installation to take place during short shutdowns, such as a weekend, without disrupting production.
