In the run-up to the summer holiday period, we organised three terrific activities in June. Firstly, we visited Ruitenberg Ingredients with YFM. Such was the enthusiasm of the company employees and the YFM members that the programme overran significantly. That says it all, I think! We will be visiting this company again on 6 October with OSV. I can now say from personal experience that it is a very worthwhile trip, so make a note of the date in your diary.
Another activity that definitely deserves a place in our list of success stories is the session with Pathema in Den Bosch. We were warmly welcomed at Brasserie de Gruyterfabriek, a wonderful location with a friendly atmosphere. Mark Boeren’s presentation was very interesting and he created lots of interaction with the audience. The theory was followed by a practical example: a visit to Vitelco, which is located just down the road from the restaurant. There was so much information that we decided to write a whole article about it.
And then came the social highlight of the season: the Summer Barbecue on 17 June. Over 150 participants gathered together to enjoy products from De Koning Vlees, and there are lots of photos to prove it.
For most people, the summer holiday season is behind them. Relaxed and revitalised, we’re now ready for the autumn. Although, if what the researchers say is true, our stress levels are already sky high again due to the overfull in-boxes which got even fuller while we were away. They claim that the beneficial effects of a holiday vanish after just three days back at work. Why do we bother?!
