Like a second skin

The MULTIVAC R 105 MF is the latest thermoforming innovation from MULTIVAC. The R 105 MF is a compact entry-level model for the production of vacuum skin packs (MultiFreshTM) for small to medium-sized batches. 

The machine shares the same technical basis with the large MultiFreshTM thermoforming packaging machines, including the upper web chain guidance and preheating of the upper web.

Attractive presentation
The demand for vacuum skin packs is already high and continues to grow. That should come as no surprise because vacuum skin packs are reliable, ensure attractive presentation of the product and additionally provide an optimal shelf life. Producing this type of packaging requires a special machine which enables the upper web to be gently draped without tension over the product like a second skin. This preserves the product’s natural shape. Because the upper web seals to the lower web all the way round the product, drip is minimised and the product can therefore be displayed as a stand-up pack or hanging pack.

MULTIVAC has many years of experience with vacuum skin packs. The portfolio comprises a complete range of thermoformers and traysealers that are specially designed for this type of packaging. The latest innovation is the MULTIVAC R 105 MF, a compact entry-level thermoformer. The R 105 MF has the same technical basis as the large machines for MultiFreshTM so that this entry-level thermoformer can produce equally high-quality packs. The R 105 MF, for example, features upper web chain guidance for optimal stability. The R 105 MF is a flexible machine which is particularly suitable for producing small batches with regular changeovers. It also has a small footprint.

MULTIVAC offers a complete assortment of MultiFreshTM skin films produced by leading film manufacturers. The MultiFreshTM range of upper-layer films has been designed for products with various heights and shapes, and the films are available in various thicknesses (75, 100, 125 and 150 µm). MultiFreshTM film is characterised by unrivalled elasticity so that even the biggest products can be packaged effortlessly. The range of lower-layer films comprises APET and PS with various barrier and peel properties.
