Packaging

We work in a fantastic sector which has overlaps with many different aspects of doing business. This month our focus is on packaging, and next month our theme will be food processing.

In the manufacturing process, aspects such as technical maintenance and water management are just as important as how the product is packaged when it hits supermarket shelves. There is so much to say about each and every aspect and, no matter which theme we cover, we can never do so exhaustively. Luckily there are lots of other ways to gather additional knowledge.

In the near future we will be absorbing new information at Empack, Aqua Nederland, Maintenance NEXT and Interpack, for example. A trade show enables you to enter into dialogue with people and to obtain immediate answers to your questions. Although the internet is a terrific medium, and we can no longer imagine a world without it, it isn’t interactive; you’re dependent on the information that companies choose to put online, and they can never share as much knowledge via a website as their employees actually have.

Which brings us back to my pet subject: personal contact is indispensable. It fosters trust, and is one of the reasons that OSV continues to flourish.

So I look forward to seeing you at a trade show very soon!
