When Regulation (EU) No. 1169/2011 comes into force, at least 95% of all current food packaging and labels will need to be adapted. There’s no doubt that adequate preparation is important!
The date is rapidly approaching; as of 13 December 2014, all labels on packaged food must comply with Regulation (EU) No. 1169/2011. This will definitely have consequences for your current approach to labelling. The most important changes affect the mandatory nutrition declaration, mandatory font size and a different typeface in the case of the presence of allergens.
Are you already busy adapting your packaging, or do you still have to make a start on the project? To help you prepare for when then Regulation comes into effect, Etiket Nederland is organising a seminar on ‘new-style labelling’. “As a label manufacturer, we believe it is important to provide our customers and contacts with accurate and timely information about the new legislation,” explains Mirella de Mare from Etiket Nederland B.V. “We launched the ‘new-style labelling’ initiative in 2012. We’ve been holding seminars on this topic in which we present the new legislation from a practical perspective. We’re working in close collaboration with partners who are involved in the areas of regulations and legislation, labelling machines and automation solutions. We pool our strengths and share knowledge.”
Etiket Nederland B.V. has successfully organised 6 seminars so far, which have provided valuable information about the key changes that the Regulation will entail to over 200 companies in total. Further seminars are scheduled for 17 and 24 April. Readers are invited to seize this opportunity to gain information and inspiration! Attendance is free. By the end of the day, you will not only be aware of the most important changes needed under Regulation (EU) No. 1169/2011 but also of the impact of these changes on your labels. Furthermore, you will be able to network with other food-industry professionals and discuss the consequences both for your company and the sector as a whole. The day concludes with a tour of the Etiket Nederland production facility.
