The meat sector has kicked off a social dialogue under the banner 'Nederland Vleesland, waar smaken verschillen' (Netherlands meat country, where tastes differ). With the launch of 'Nederland Vleesland' six partners in the meat chain are acting together and proactively.
Nederland Vleesland provides information about meat and its production. The website includes stories from the sector and provides facts and figures about the meat chain and about meat consumption. The initiators want to adjust perceptions where necessary and dispel misconceptions where possible. And they like to enter into dialogue.
Themes such as 'Taste', 'Health', 'Respect for animals' and 'Sustainability' will be highlighted and visitors will find information on nutritional values, animal handling and the environment. Under the heading "What kind of meat eater are you?", visitors recognise themselves as meat eater in the profiles. Because with meat, too, the saying 'tastes differ' certainly applies.
Nederland Vleesland is an initiative of Koninklijke Nederlandse Slagers (KNS), Stichting Brancheorganisatie Kalversector (SBK), Vlees.nl, Stichting Voorlichting Varkensketen, Vleeschwaar, Vee & Logistiek Nederland and The Pig Story.
