Metal particles found in Merba products

Merba Bakery has recently issued a statement regarding the discovery of small metal particles in some of their products. This issue came to light following complaints from consumers, raising concerns among customers and within the food industry.

The affected products contain thin metal particles that fall below the usual detection limit in the food industry. Despite the use of advanced metal detection and X-ray equipment on Merba’s production lines, these particles were too small to be detected. The particles vary in size but are primarily thin and long, posing a potential health risk if consumed.

The products in question are part of the MERBA Easter assortment and include Merba Cranberry cookies and Merba Triple chocolate cookies. Products with specific expiry dates and batch codes have been identified as potentially contaminated.

Consumer instructions and apologies

Merba advises customers who have purchased the affected products not to consume them and to return them to the supermarket where they were bought for a full refund. The company has apologized for any inconvenience caused by this situation and emphasizes its commitment to product safety and customer satisfaction.
