After ten years away, it is back. The Foodvalley Award has been presented once again. During the Foodvalley Partner Event in Wageningen, the award went to MaGie Creations. The Award is intended for partners who contribute to accelerating the food transition through vision, courage, and collaboration. The presentation took place on December 11, 2025. This marked the first time the Award had been presented since 2016. With its reintroduction, Foodvalley aims to once again spotlight solutions that prove their impact in practice.
The Foodvalley Award was established in 2005 and quickly grew into a recognizable form of recognition within the network. Organizations were rewarded for leading the way with innovative solutions for the food system. In 2016, the Award was put on hold. Innovation did not stop, but the stage temporarily disappeared. Ten years later, the Award is relevant once again. According to Foodvalley, the need for solutions that create a more resilient, healthier, and fairer food system is significant. The renewed Award is intended to give innovators visibility and support further growth and scaling.
From twelve nominated companies, the Leadership Team selected four finalists. Each finalist represented a different Foodvalley Community. These were Innergy, Farm Dairy, MaGie Creations, and S&dB. During the Partner Event, they presented their innovation and vision to more than 250 attending partners. After that, the decision lay with the audience. The vote was based on five criteria. Strategic vision, scalability, and collaborative impact played a role. Demonstrated social and environmental results were also taken into account, along with values-driven leadership. After the votes were counted, MaGie Creations was named the winner of the Foodvalley Award 2025.
The renewed Award has been designed as a work of art. The design was created in collaboration with Dutch artist Jasper Udink ten Cate. It symbolizes the collective character of Foodvalley, in which parties contribute to systemic change from different roles. According to Marjolein Brasz, CEO of Foodvalley, the reintroduction highlights what truly matters: “The reintroduction of this Award underscores that innovation only has meaning when it truly lands in practice.” Foodvalley is an independent non-profit organization. Together with more than 500 partners in the Netherlands and abroad, it works toward a future-proof, fair, and sustainable food system.
