JBT Marel Corporation has completed the acquisition of Marel hf. The acquisition was formally finalized following the closure of the voluntary offer period on December 20, 2024. This marks an important step for the company in expanding its activities within the food and beverage industry.
The completion of this acquisition is the result of more than a year of dedicated efforts to combine the strengths of both companies. “Today is a significant milestone,” said Brian Deck, CEO of JBT Marel Corporation. “With our combined expertise and operational scale, we can better support our customers and the broader food supply chain.” The newly formed company offers a wider range of solutions with a strong focus on application, service, and digital expertise.
JBT Marel Corporation is led by a team that includes representatives from both JBT and Marel. In addition to CEO Brian Deck and President Árni Sigurdsson, the management team consists of carefully selected executives with extensive experience. The Board of Directors will see several changes, with new members including Svafa Grönfeldt and Olafur Gudmundsson. Former JBT board member C. Maury Devine has chosen to retire following the completion of the acquisition.
Through this strategic merger, JBT Marel aims to further strengthen its position in the food processing industry and provide customers worldwide with innovative solutions that contribute to the future of food production.
